Rooflights and Smoke Ventilation

Xtralite have developed a range of modular smoke ventilation AOV rooflights to specifically mimic the standard range of Xtralite’s modular rooflights. This gives specifiers the opportunity to maintain the external aesthetics of the building by having rooflights and smoke vent AOVs supplied from a single source.

The same underlying rooflight designs and a simplified ordering and admin process ensures the project will look good and be delivered on time. Xtralite works in partnership with leading specialists in smoke vent control systems to ensure the units fully comply with the requirements of the building managers and/or fire and rescue services.

Roof Opening and Access

Smoke ventilation systems are designed to ensure a natural flow of smoke from the building into the atmosphere. AOVs may also be used for cooling where there is heat gain and airflow is required to maintain a comfortable environment.

High Performance Rooflight Construction

Xtralite rooflights are well known for their ability to outperform the criteria of Part L, more than meeting the demands of the most rigorous specification requirements. Please note our icons for ease of monitoring for the rooflight that suits your specific job.

The Xtralite AOV Rooflight Range

Smoke Vent AOV Modular Rooflights

The modular smoke vent range of AOV range rooflights is based around the Xtralite’s popular X two V, X three and X five variants distinguished by the kerbs being made of either uPVC or metal.  X two and X three are double walled and meet the requirements of Part L. X five denotes a single walled metal construction AOV and so it is ideal for areas exempt from the requirements of Part L.

Double AOV Rooflights

Twin sliding rooflights offer roof access, smoke ventilation and are less likely to get damaged in high winds than those that open vertically.

Glass AOV Rooflights

Sliding horizontal glass rooflights give architecturally pleasing finish as well as smoke ventilation.

Louvred Rooflight Systems

A vertical fenestration system is available as well as a horizontal system. The horizontal system is lightweight, compact and maintenance free.

90° Double pitched AOV Rooflights

Compliance with EN12101, normally requiring 140° opening units, can be acheieved with these double-pitched rooflights.
